Dr. Satorius grew up in Southern California and received her undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Shortly after, she felt inspired to study abroad in the UK where she lived for 5 years, obtaining degrees in the fields of anthropology and archeology. Soon afterward, Dr. Satorius became drawn back to her childhood interest in veterinary medicine and in 2016 completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at St. George's University, School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, with clinical training at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she completed a rotating internship at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles where she received training from veterinary specialists boarded in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, neurology, and emergency and critical care. She then practiced emergency medicine in the Los Angeles area until 2021 when she moved to Port Alberni. Dr. Satorius lives with her French Bulldog, Chicory, and her two cats, Hammett and Hendrix. She greatly enjoys the natural landscape of Vancouver Island and getting outside, learning about local history, knitting, growing and collecting houseplants, travelling, and reading.
